Part of our vision at Rhema Family Christian Centre is to fulfil the Great Commission that Jesus has given to the body of Christ, and to ensure that every born again believer never remains a convert but becomes an active FRUIT BEARING disciple of Jesus.
Paul wrote to the Ephesians in Eph 4:11-13 that Jesus appointed disciples into the Five Fold Ministry to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.
A Christian disciple is a person who accepts and assists in the spreading of the good news of Jesus Christ.
Christian discipleship is the process by which disciples grow in the Lord Jesus Christ and are equipped by the Holy Spirit, who resides in our hearts, to overcome the pressures and trials of this present life and become more and more Christlike.
This process requires believers to respond to the Holy Spirit’s prompting to examine their thoughts, words and actions and compare them with the Word of God.
For wisdom will come into your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul; discretion
will watch over you, understanding will guard you,

The RFCC Bible Training Centre subjects and courses are structured with the above in mind and incorporate the following :
1). Putting Jesus first in all things (Mark 8:34-35).The disciple of Christ needs to be set apart from the world. Our focus should be on our Lord and pleasing Him in every area of our lives. Mar 8:34 And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. Mar 8:35 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel’s will save it.
2). Following Jesus’ teachings (John 8:31-32).We must be obedient children and doers of the Word. John 8:31 So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, John 8:32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
3). Fruitfulness (John 15:5-8).Our job is not producing fruit. Our job is to abide in Christ, and if we do, the Holy Spirit will produce the fruit. The change we seek is done from the inside out, through the power of the Holy Spirit. John 15:5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:6 If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. John 15:7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. John 15:8 By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.
4). Love for others. Love is defined and elaborated on in 1 Corinthians 13:1-13. These verses show us that love is not an emotion; it is an action, a conscious decision , and an act of our will. Joh 13:34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. Joh 13:35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
5). Evangelism – Making disciples of others (Matthew 28:18-20).We are to share our faith and tell nonbelievers about the wonderful changes Jesus Christ has made in our lives. No matter what our maturity level in the Christian life, we have something to offer. Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Mat 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Mat 28:20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
